Boston

We finally know where we're going this summer, and I couldn't be more excited/nervous. Trey got an internship in Boston working for Tag Romney. This will be an amazing opportunity for Trey and quite the adventure for us.

We will be there for 8 weeks, May 22- July 22

Here is the look at the beautiful city we'll  be living in.

Excited

I was thinking about summer today and I started to get more excited than I already am.  I am excited for where ever we go this summer..(soon to come) and for all the fun summer activities, hiking, boating, sun bathing, ect.

I also got my hair trimmed today and if any of you live in Logan and want an awesome go to Jessica at Arkana salon. I am pretty picky about my hair and she always does amazing!

Speaking of hair, one of my favorite hair product is Moroccan Oil. It helps dry hair and gives a healthy shine.

(I would have put a picture but Safari doesn't let you add photos to I-photo anymore, does anyone know how too ?)

Walk

I am injured... and am quite depressed about it. I over worked my knee and now have to lay off all high impact activity. So...I started just walking and doing yoga to keep my self sane. Both are great workouts.. While walking you just have to push yourself (try speed walking, changing the incline)  and its actually quite relaxing.

So if you are like me and need to lay off high impact stuff.. try walking, along with running its the best way to get rid of belly fat:)

Protest Music

I am currently taking an Advance Persuasion class, its one of my favorite classes and I've learned a lot of cool stuff (Trey gets to hear about it every Tuesday and Thursday). This week we had an assignment to pick a protest song, play it in front of the class, and explain why the song is persuasive and what functions does the song use to persuade audiences.
Some of these functions are:

  • Gives information (social problems, future, past and present)
  •  Identifies who the victims are and who the guilty are
  • Achieving legitimacy (showing worth)
  • Demand a right or action
  • Create Awareness
  • Build Cohesion
  • Creates Commitment

Now who ever follows this blog knows that I already love music, and am usually pretty good at understanding songs, but have you ever looked up the lyrics to a powerful or influential song? Its amazing how much more you will learn and be inspired.

I felt a little depressed after class because a lot of the songs people chose were about things like: Suicide, Lynching, Atomic Bombs, and Hate. However these are all things that need to change.

I chose the song Changes by Tupac Shakur who was ironically shot because of hate... its a great song!!

Here is the music video and the lyrics....

Thank you

Thank you spring break for being so amazing. I really needed the sun and the fun time with Family, whom I miss very much. Now back to school. Almost done :)

Oh and happy 10 months of marriage to us!
